Five arrested in drug operation in Maamigili

Five individuals have been arrested in Alifu Dhaalu atoll Maamigili following a joint drug operation conducted by the Alifu Dhaalu atoll Drug Enforcement Unit, Maldives Police Service, and Police Intelligence.

According to police, a total of 9.68 grams of drugs were seized from seven different locations during the operation.

The suspects arrested are all residents of Maamigli:

- Riswan Ibrahim, 30

- Ahmed Firushan, 28

- Mohamed Shahudh, 27

- Mohamed Mahmood, 34

- Ali Shaniz, 39

Following their arrest, the court remanded Riswan Ibrahim and Mohamed Mahmood in custody for 15 days. The remaining three suspects; Ahmed Firushan, Mohamed Shahudh, and Ali Shaniz were given a five day remand.
