Eid prayers in Male' city will be held in congregation at 24 mosques and four designated outdoor locations, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs said today.

According to the ministry, the outdoor prayer locations include Maafannu Stadium area, Villimale’ Football Stadium, Hulhumale’ Stadium, and Hulhumale’ Cricket Stadium area. These locations have been prepared to accommodate large congregations for the special Eid prayer.

In the event of unfavorable weather conditions, Eid prayers will be conducted in all mosques that typically hold Friday prayers in Male’ area.

The ministry also said that all prayer venues, both outdoor and indoor, will include designated areas for women to participate in the prayers.

Eid prayers will now commence at 7:00 am across Maldives, instead of the previous time of 7:30 am.
