President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has today officially inaugurated the 75 bed Multispeciality Surgical Wing at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).

Patients who undergo general surgeries, neuro surgeries, plastic surgeries, ortho surgeries and urology surgeries will be admitted in this Multispeciality Surgical Wing.

With this wing, the total number of beds in IGMH has now risen to 510.

Speaking at the ceremony, Male' City Group of Hospitals Chief Executive Officer Ibrahim Abdul Razzaq Haleem stated that President Muizzu has significantly contributed to advancements in the health sector over the past one and a half years. He said that 194 beds had been added at IGMH over this period of time.

Haleem further said that efforts had been made to develop human resources in the health sector as well. He announced that he has been given the go ahead to recruit 411 staff needed in the sector.
