Maldives Immigration said that out of nearly 1,000 individuals who applied for the 50 immigration officer posts announced, around 750 candidates were found eligible.
The walk-in interview, held on Saturday at Galolhu Madharusaa from 9:00 a.m. to midnight, saw an overwhelming turnout.
Immigration officials said 876 people officially applied, and after screening, 758 were deemed eligible.
"Tokens were issued to the eligible candidates, and interviews were carried out in several phases," a media official from Maldives Immigration said.
"Initially, six interview panels were held, which was later increased to 10 to accommodate the large number of candidates. The process continued until 12:00 am," he said.
The recruitment process includes an examination, which is being held today and tomorrow.
Successful candidates will be announced via the official Maldives Immigration website once the selection process concludes.
