A man with a criminal record for fraud has been arrested for allegedly using fake payment slips to obtain food deliveries without paying.

Zaidhan Hashim, of G. Cinema 1 05-13, was taken into custody after police said he placed multiple orders through the Foodies Delivery app and sent falsified payment slips.

The total value of the food he received remains unclear.

Police said that Zaidhan has previously been wanted in several cases involving fraud and extortion. He was remanded in custody for 15 days following his arrest.

In 2022, Zaidhan was arrested in a separate fraud case involving the use of a fake company to purchase goods. At the time, police told the Criminal Court that he had bought large quantities of hardware supplies from Homework, a well-known store in Hulhumale', on credit despite having no funds in the accounts associated with him or his business.
