Raudh Ahmed Zilal, who was arrested in relation to the fall from a building of Hawwa Yumnu Rasheed, was promptly rearrested after his release on Thursday.

On Friday, the Criminal Court placed him in remand in custody for a period of five days again.

Raudh, 21, of G. Eriyadhoo, was released in Thursday before the 20 day remand earlier ruled by the Criminal Court expired.

Raudh's remand has now been extended on six different occasions. He was initially remanded for five days, with a 10 day extension, followed by a five day extension later granted. Most recently, he was placed in remand in custody for 20 days.

Police have said that Raudh was released on Thursday based on procedural advice provided by the Prosecutor General's Office.

A hearing in an appeal case submitted against Raudh's remand had also been scheduled for Thursday, with the case later being withdrawn upon his release.

Raudh was initially arrested on April 24, six days after the incident where Hawwa Yumn Rasheed fell from H. Fentenoy on to the roof of an adjacent warehouse at H. Mitaaz. Police accuse Raudh of involvement in Yumn's fall, of being intoxicated at the time of the incident and of engaging in sexual activity.

Police have earlier said that the phones of all these individuals were seized under a court order.
