Suspect arrested in Hulhumale’ Phase 2 altercation remanded pending trial

An 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an assault that took place in Hulhumale’ Phase 2 on Monday night, police said.

The suspect, identified as Mohamed Raihan Hussain, was taken into custody under a court order and has been remanded pending trial.

According to police, the incident left one victim with a head injury, while another suffered swelling on his back and abrasions on his elbows. Both were treated at Hulhumale’ Hospital, that night.

Police also said the assailants stole two mobile phones during the attack.
