A delegation from the English football club, Liverpool, have visited the Maldives.
The delegation came to Maldives as the country's tourism destination partner, for the Maldives promotion campaign launched in collaboration with MMPRC.
The company said that the delegation was led by David Paul, Vice President of the partnership, and Alex Fraser, the director of global partnership development at Liverpool FC.
The delegation's visit is an important step in developing the strategic partnership of Visit Maldives, MMPRC said.
According to the company, the visit would include important meetings with government officials, ministers and tourism officials.
Maldives was named Liverpool FC's "Official Tourist Destination Partner" as part of a three-year and six-month campaign to increase the reach of the country's tourism brand and encourage more tourists to visit Maldives.
MMPRC has also scheduled many activities to coincide with the new season starting in August. This includes the launch of content featuring Liverpool's players next month, and an important international campaign, the company said.
They also said this partnership would further strengthen its efforts to target expensive markets such as the UK, Germany and the Middle East, where Liverpool has a large fanbase.
