Criminal Court has today extended Raudh Ahmed Zilal's remand period by an additional 20 days.
Raudh was arrested on suspicion of involvement in Hawwa Yumnu Rasheed's fall from a building.
Yumnu was found fallen on the roof of a warehouse at H. Mitaaz on April 18. Police have said that she fell from a fanlight in the 9th floor stairwell of adjacent H. Fentenoy.
This is the fourth extension to Raudh's remand following his arrest on April 24 - six days after the incident, at which time the Criminal Court placed him in remand in custody initially for five days, followed by ten days and the latest extension given for five days.
Raudh was arrested on charges of possible involvement in Yumnu's fall, being intoxicated at the time of the incident, and use for sexual purposes.
Raudh was the last person with whom Yumnu was seen prior to the incident.
Police have also revealed the identities of seven other individuals who were accompanying Yumnu earlier on the night of the incident.
When asked for a urine sample following the incident, all but Raudh refused to comply. While Police have not yet disclosed details of the investigation against them, the group includes two nephews of Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Mohamed Ameen.
Police were also unable to obtain CCTV footage from Ameen's residence, Maandhooge Dhekunuge, where the group had initially gathered on the night of the incident.
