The presidential commission formed by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu to look into polices' handling of the case where Hawwa Yumnu Rasheed - a 21 young woman, who was found fallen from a high building on to the roof of a warehouse - has met with the prime suspect Raudh Ahmed Zilal and questioned him for the first time.

While no further information was released regarding the questioning, this was the first time the commission questioned Raudh since the commission was formed on April 28.

According to the commission, they visited related properties and questioned employees of relevant agencies regarding the case until yesterday. However, no further details were revealed about the findings either.

While Raud, 21, faces serious allegations in the case, he was arrested on April 24, a week after the incident. The court granted a period of 5 days as remand initially, extending that period by a further 10 days upon the expiry of the initial remand period.

The five person commission was formed by President Muizzu following public outrage and widespread distrust over how the authorities were handling the case.

Yumnu is currently being treated for her injuries in a Malaysian hospital, and her family has reported that she is slowly recovering after several surgeries.

According to the family, Yumnu told them that she did not jump on her own, but that it was done to her by several people. The family alleges that there were more people in H. Fentenoy, where Yumnu fell from, other that Yumnu and Raudh that night.

"She last said that whether she would get justice. Whether [we are sure that] she would get justice. That she did not do this by herself. That people did this [to her]," Yumnu's sister said.

Yumnu's sister also alleges that Fentenoy was not a random house they went to - a stark contrast to what police had told the public earlier.
