President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has reaffirmed his administration's commitment to recognizing and supporting nurses, praising their unparalleled contribution to healthcare in a special message marking Nurses Day, observed today.
In his address, the President said that nurses perform one of the most demanding and honorable roles in society, serving humanity around the clock with compassion and resilience.
He acknowledged the immense responsibilities of the profession and described the work of nurses as noble and deeply fulfilling, both through their direct service and in the gratitude and prayers they receive from those they care for.
President Muizzu assured that his administration will actively listen to nurses' concerns and work to improve the benefits and support available to them, identifying it as a key policy priority.
Extending his heartfelt greetings and best wishes, the President praised nurses as the backbone of the health system. “Hospitals welcome patients for treatment, but it is the dedicated nurses who remain by their side until they recover and are discharged,” he said in a message shared on social media.
“By caring for so many with compassion and a smile, nurses carry out a duty that brings pride to the entire nation.”
He concluded his message by wishing all Maldivian nurses continued success and growth in their careers.
