The Presidential Commission investigating the fall of 21-year-old Hawwa Yumnu Rasheed from a building in Male' has visited key sites and met with officials from relevant agencies as part of its ongoing inquiry.

The five-member commission, formed on April 28 following public concern over the police's handling of the case, shared on X that it has begun collecting critical information related to the April 18 incident.

While specific locations were not disclosed, the commission noted that individuals involved have started providing clarifications.

Commission Chair and former Attorney General Dr Mohamed Munavvar earlier expressed optimism that the investigation would be concluded very swiftly.

Yumnu is currently receiving treatment in Malaysia and is said to be gradually recovering after undergoing multiple surgeries.

Her family maintains that she did not fall by accident, quoting her as saying others besides Raudh Ahmed Zilal who was with her at the time and has been arrested were also present.
