Maldives Police Service has revealed that the agency has not yet had the chance to question Hawwa Yumn Rasheed, 21, who was found fallen on the roof top of a warehouse from H. Fentenoy on April 18, 2025.

While Yumn, who is receiving care at a hospital in Malaysia, is recovering from extensive injuries, it was reported by local media that she regained consciousness on May 4.

Yumn's sister, on Thursday night, told local media that the family was able to speak with her about the events that transpired at H. Fentenoy. According to her sister, Yumn said that she did not fall, but that her fall was caused by several people.

With widespread criticism aimed at police's handling of the case and many questioning the information revealed by the agency, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu formed a presidential commission to look into how police handled the case.

However, Yumn's sister said neither police nor the commission had spoken with the family, and criticised the delay.

Responding to journalists' questions, police said in their official media group that they deem it important to get Yumn's statement regarding the case, and that they had tried to speak with Yumn from the first day. However, her health condition prevented them from questioning her, the agency said.

"The woman's health condition and other circumstances have prevented us from questioning the woman so far. The investigation wants to question the woman as soon as it becomes possible," police said in their message.

Journalists were also told that the investigation is ongoing and that persons of interest are being questioned. According to the agency, they are also working to verify the information being provided to them.

According to Mihaaru News, there are currently two police officers in Malé with Yumn, of which one officer is a doctor.

Yumn's sister said she assured that she did not jump from Fentenoy.

"Her last words were whether she would get justice. Whether [we are sure that] she would get justice. That she did not do this by herself. That people did this [to her]," Yumn's sister said.

Yumn's sister also said that police's claim that Fentenoy was a random house that she had not previously gone to was a lie, and that she had visited the house before.

According to the sister, Yumn went to that house at the invitation of Yoosuf Yassar Abdul Ghafoor as that there were four other people in the group.

The family claimed that police had revealed false information regarding the case and that the cctv footage published from Fentenoy had also been doctored to distort the truth.

That night, Yumn and Raudh Ahmed Zilal, the other person confirmed to have been with Yumn that night in Fentenoy, had first visited MA. Maandhooge Dhekunuge before going to H. Kashiveli prior to entering Fentenoy.

According to police, Aishath Layaaly Iqbal, Izdhiyaan Mohamed Maumoon, Yoosuf Ahmed Akram, Aminath Junaina Jamsheed, Hussain Hamees Ali and Ijaz Jaiz and Yoosuf Yassar Abdul Ghafoor had spent time with the pair before they went to Fentenoy.
