Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has launched an investigation into a case of alleged misconduct involving High Court Judge Dheebaanaz Fahumy.

Mihaaru News reported that JSC initiated the probe following a complaint alleging that a trial under Judge Dheebaanaz's oversight had not been conducted and was significantly delayed.

However, details of the specific trial in question remain unclear.

JSC typically does not disclose information regarding ongoing investigations into judges, and no official statement has been issued by JSC regarding this case.

Judge Dheebaanaz was appointed to the High Court in 2022, having previously served as a judge at the Criminal Court. She was the first female judge to be appointed to the Criminal Court, in 2020.
