A police recruit undergoing training at the Police Training Centre in Dhaalu atoll Vaanee, has been hospitalized after his condition deteriorated.

According to police, the trainee fell ill last night and was taken to Kudahuvadhoo Hospital in the early hours of Sunday.

He was later airlifted to Male' and is currently receiving treatment at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).

Police said that his condition is serious but have not disclosed the reason behind his condition.
