The Prosecutor General's Office has entered an agreement with UNDP to provide mental health services to staff.
PG Office said that the initiative aims to ensure psychological wellbeing amongst their staff, strengthen the office's work and the criminal justice system.
The MoU was signed by Prosecutor General Abbas Shareef and UNDP Resident Representative Enrico Gaveglia.
"This is a very positive initiative taken by the Witness and Victim Support Unit at the Prosecutor General's Office which provides support and assistance to state witnesses and victims of abuse," the PG said.
In the five year Strategic Action Plan of the PG Office, there are stringent measures detailed to promote the psychological wellbeing of staff, to create a positive work environment, and to improve the standard of their work.

Also, as PG Office staff undertake sensitive work, this aims to build their capacity to face challenges in the legal work they do.
"This investment towards the mental wellbeing of PG Office staff is a strong foundation laid for strengthening the justice system. This partnership is an example of our joint efforts to advance the quality of this institution," Gaveglia stated.
