Police have arrested an individual for dangerous driving of a taxi while intoxicated.
The individual arrested in this case has been identified as Mohamed Maais, 23, of Hulhumale' Flat no. 4-1-07.
Police said that a car speeding and driving dangerously on the Hulhumale' highway on Thursday night, with headlights turned off, and four signals on, had speeded away ignoring Police orders to stop.
Police then commenced a search for this car, where it was again spotted speeding on Haivakaru Magu in Hulhumale', towards Tree Top Hospital. The car once again speeded away despite Police attempts to stop it.

Police said that the car had been driven without slowing for speed breaks, or when turning onto other roads.
The car finally came to a halt near Flat number 97 on Rabarugas Magu. When police in pursuit had approached the vehicle, the driver attempted to drive off the car again, Police said.
Police said that when the car had been stopped, it was missing its right rear tire, which was later found near Flat no. 103.
Upon his arrest, Maais has been placed in remand in custody for a period of three days.
Police have also towed the car. The photo of the car released by Police show that the car was an Avas Ride cab.
