In his special address on the occasion of International Workers' Day, President Dr Mohamed Muizzu recognized the daily efforts of the country's workforce having contributed to the larger development and progress of the country.

He stated that the government remains committed to listening to the needs of the workforce, and citizens, and establishing means of income for all.

President Muizzu also emphasized on the importance of raising children with a strong work ethic. He said that this needs to be incorporated into the school curriculum, alongside practical skills.

He went on to remind that work is also a spiritual endeavour, calling on citizens to embrace labour according to their capabilites.

President Muizzu thanked the labour force for their dedication and contributions, shaping Maldives into what it is today.
