Parliament has today approved the appointment of Mohamed Mujuthaz - the most recently appointed member of the Civil Service Commission - as the commission's Vice President.

Mujuthaz was appointed as a member of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) on April 20.

He was approved for the post through unanimous votes in favour from all 64 MPs who participated in the vote.

CSC Vice President's post became vacant following the resignation of Ibrahim Rasheed.

Mujuthaz served as MP for Hanimadhoo constituency in the 17th Peoples' Majlis. He holds a Bachelors of Law from the Maldives College of Higher Education. He later served as a State Minister at the President's Office during the administration of former President Abdulla Yameen.
