Family of Hawwa Yumnu Rasheed has stated that her most major and difficult surgery was completed successfully yesterday.

Yumnu was found fallen on to the roof of a warehouse at H. Mitaaz on April 18, with severe injuries. Police have said that she fell from a fanlight in the 9th floor stairwell of adjacent building, H. Fentenoy.

Yumnu was taken to Malaysia for further treatment last Saturday. Prior to this, she was being treated at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital.

The family said that the surgery took over five hours. This operation was necessary due to a fragmented fracture in her spine close to her lower neck.

This is the most critical of the surgeries she requires, the family said. They stated that the procedure went smoothly.

The family said that if all goes well, Yumnu will be able to sit up within a few days.
