Three additional persons have been appointed as members of the Presidential Commission formed to investigate Hawwa Yumnu Rasheed's fall from a building.
The newly appointed members of the commission are Moosa Murad, Male' Register no. 641, Jabeen Mohamed, Moonimaage, Th. Veymandoo, and Aminath Eanas, H. Habaruge.
Eanas was the former President of the Human Rights Commission of Maldives. Jabeen is the Nursing Director of the Hulhumale' Hospital. Dr Murad is a senior physician at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital.
On April 18, Yumnu was found fallen from what Police said is the fanlight in the stairwell of the 9th floor of H. Fentenoy on to the roof of an adjacent warehouse.
The new appointments come as Dr Mohamed Habeeb, who was initially appointed to the commission when it was formed on Saturday, handed in his resignation citing familial links to Raudh Ahmed Zilal, the sole arrestee related to the case to date.
With the new appointments, there are currently a total of five members in the commission. This includes today's three appointees, former Attorney General Dr Mohamed Munavvar and former Vice Chief of Defence Force Ahmed Mohamed.
