President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has said that he will resolve the challenges faced by Maldivians living in Malaysia, during his official visit to the country, which began today.
Speaking in an interview with PSM before his departure, President Muizzu shared that he plans to discuss matters related to the issuance of passports and ID cards for Maldivians in Malaysia.
He also expressed his intention to meet with the Maldivian community there to address their concerns and facilitate solutions through government channels.
The President's visit, which is at the invitation of Malaysian Prime Minister Dr Anwar Ibrahim, will focus on strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two nations. Additionally, President Muizzu will share opportunities for investment in the Maldives with Malaysian investors.
President Muizzu is accompanied by Foreign Minister Dr Abdulla Khaleel, Defence Minister Mohamed Ghassan Maumoon, Finance Minister Moosa Zameer, Home Minister Ali Ihusan, Education Minister Dr Ismail Shafeeu, Higher Education Minister Dr Ali Haidar, Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed, Islamic Minister Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed and Attorney General Ahmed Usham on this trip.
This marks President Muizzu’s first official visit to Malaysia.
During the trip, the President will be meeting with Prime Minister Anwar.
The official welcoming ceremony is scheduled to be held tomorrow. He will be welcomed by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
