"Thazukaaru"; a Dhivehi term signifying a gift of remembrance, a keepsake that captures the spirit of a special place or event.

Created by Kendhikulhudhoo; popularly known as the Mangrove Island, this unique gift embodies a movement toward sustainability, community pride, and environmental stewardship.

According to the island council, these bottles are created from 95 percent recycled materials, symbolizing transformation and renewal.

It features a reused glass bottle, topped with a handcrafted lid made from unwanted banyan tree roots, breathing new life into natural waste, the council said.

Inside the bottle is the TMIFC logo, representing "The Mangrove Island Football Championship; a celebration of unity, competition, and the vibrant spirit binding the Kendhikulhudhoo community together.

Tied to the bottle is a small pouch containing "Kanamadhu Roshigan'du" a beloved local sweet made from sea almonds. This traditional treat not only highlights the richness of the island's culture but also supports local livelihoods, nurtures traditional skills, and promotes sustainable agriculture, the council said.

Thazukaaru is specially presented as a welcoming gift to team players, officials, and special invitees of the tournament.

Thazukaaru offers a lasting memento of their bond with The Mangrove Island acting as a symbol of their shared journey toward a greener, more sustainable future.
