Police have said in court that according to the statement of Raudh Ahmed Zilal, an altercation occurred between himself and Hawwa Yumnu Rasheed before her fall from a building.

Yumnu was found fallen from a building, H. Fentoniya, on to the roof of an adjacent warehouse at H. Mitaaz on Friday morning. Police have since said that she fell from a fanlight in the 9th floor stairwell of the building.

In relation to this case, Raudh, 21, G. Eriyadhoo, was arrested yesterday evening. When presented for his remand hearing, the Criminal Court has placed him in custody for five days.

While Police earlier said that Raudh was not involved in Yumnu's fall, They said in court that an altercation occurred between himself and Yumnu on the night of the incident.

Police also said that when questioned a short while after Yumnu's fall about her whereabouts, Raudh had said he did not know, and that he believes she may have fallen. Police did not reveal to whom Raudh had made this statement.

Police repeated in court that CCTV footage indicates that Raudh had attempted to look for Yumnu after her fall. However, no reports related to this were lodged at the Police, they said.

Raudh's lawyer pointed out that Police had stated at a press conference that Raudh had no involvement in Yumnu's fall. They stated that Raudh is in a responsible job, and has no prior record of a similar crime.

When Police sought a court order for Raudh's arrest, they mentioned charges of possible involvement in Yumnu's fall, being intoxicated at the time of the incident, and use for sexual purposes.
