Masjid Al Nabawi Imam and Khateeb Sheikh Salah Al-Budair called on Imams last night to follow Sunnah, and offer prayers in moderate form.

During his ongoing visit to Maldives, Sheikh Salah Al-Budair met with khateebs and imams last night, where he delivered this advice, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs said.

He highlighted how it is crucial for Imams to seek knowledge, and as such to learn the obligations in Islam towards prayers and other deeds.

One of the things the Sheikh spoke about include the use of social media. He advised Imams to practice restraint when posting on social media, and to refrain from posting or commenting on affairs unrelated to the work of Imams.

He emphasized the importance of the position of Imams and Khateebs, and advised to fulfil the responsibilities that come along with the position.

Sheikh Salah Al-Budair called on the Imams and Khateebs to become exemplary figures accepted widely by society. He said that it is important for Imams to be persons who are kind to people, and promote good deeds. He especially advised them to refrain from making statements that will create discord within society.

Sheikh Salah Al-Budair led Maghrib and Isha prayers at King Salman Mosque yesterday. He will also be leading Isha prayers at the Islamic Centre tonight, after which he will be delivering a special sermon.

Sheikh Salah Al-Budair has also met with President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed and the staff of the Islamic Ministry. He also met with the Fatwa Committee and visited the Islamic University of Maldives.
