RCC has signed an agreement with the Kudahuvadhoo Council to develop two residential buildings on the island, marking the company’s first-ever housing project outside the capital, Male'.
The project involves the construction of two buildings with 160 three-bedroom apartments, with 80 flats in each building.
The agreement was signed by RCC Managing Director Ibrahim Rasheed and Mohamed Shiham of Kudahuvadhoo Council during a ceremony held Tuesday morning.
Each apartment will be sold at MVR 1.5 million, and the buildings will be equipped with two elevators and modern amenities.
RCC has opened bookings for the apartments, and potential buyers have been invited to contact the company for more information and purchase arrangements.
The agreement represents a milestone for RCC, one of the largest construction firms in the country.
Speaking at the signing ceremony held at Maagiri Hotel, RCC Chairman Ahmed Nazim praised Kudahuvadhoo as an island that embraces development and noted the significant architectural progress the island has made over the years.
Kudahuvadhoo MP Hussain Hameed speaking during the ceremony, said that the island community has always welcomed people migrating to the island. He added that RCC’s housing initiative will be significant to the island’s continued development.
Representatives from Bank of Ceylon and Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB) were also present at the ceremony.
