Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) has decided to take over the renovation of more than 7,000 flats being managed by the Housing Ministry.
In an announcement today, FDC said the company would visit 704 inhabited flats in Hulhumalé by next Thursday to complete an inspection which would help the company understand the state of the apartments.
As such, FDC asked residents to cooperate with the survey team.
The company's Managing Director Hamdhan Shakeel told 'Mihaaru News' that FDC would work with the Housing Ministry to transfer administrative work after the assessment is completed.
Some of the flats built in Hulhumalé Phase 1 are now maintained by the Housing Ministry. The remaining flats are looked after by Housing Development Corporation (HDC).
