Fight in Malé leaves one injured

A fight broke out in a café in Malé City's Maafannu district on Monday night, leaving one person injured with a sharp weapon.

Maldives Police Service said the victim is a 22 year old Maldivian male.

According to reports, the conflict was between two groups. However, the agency did not reveal what caused the assault.

Police said the victim is receiving treatment for his injuries at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital - although his condition is unclear.

Police revealed no information other than that the matter is under investigation.
