Sheikh Dr Salah Al-Budair, Imam of Masjid Al-Nabawi in Madinah, Saudi Arabia, arrived in Maldives this afternoon on an official visit.
He was warmly received with a red carpet reception at Velana International Airport (VIA) by Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed, Chief Imam of the Islamic Center Sheikh Mohamed Lateef, and senior officials from the Ministry.
During his visit, Sheikh Dr Al-Budair will deliver a special religious lecture at 08:15 pm on Thursday night at Islamic Center which will be translated into Dhivehi language by Minister Shaheem.

Sheikh Dr Al-Budair will lead the Maghrib and Isha prayers at the King Salman Mosque on Wednesday night, April 23, and the Isha prayer at the Islamic Center on Thursday night, April 24.
He will also lead the Friday prayer at the Islamic Center.
Sheikh Dr Al Budair is a renowned Islamic scholar, respected imam, and senior judge, admired by Muslims around the world for his remarkable Qur’an recitation and deep understanding of Islamic teachings.
This is the first visit of an Imam of Masjid Al Nabawi to Maldives within the past 40 years. The last visit was for the official inauguration of the Islamic Centre by Sheikh Muhammad al-Subayyil, Imam of the Grand Mosque in Mecca.
