Masjid Al Nabawi Imam and Khateeb Sheikh Salah Al-Budair is scheduled to deliver a religious sermon at the Islamic Centre on Thursday, Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed has announced.
Sheikh Salah Al-Budair will be arriving in Maldives tomorrow on a five day official visit.
In a press conference held by the Islamic Ministry, Minister Shaheem said that the religious sermon by Sheikh Salah Al-Budair will be held at 8:15pm at the Islamic Centre on Thursday. The minister himself will translate the sermon to the local language, Dhivehi.
Sheikh Salah Al-Budair will also lead Maghrib and Isha prayers at the Salman Mosque on Wednesday. He will also lead Isha prayers at the Islamic Centre on Thursday.
Friday prayers this week will also be led by Sheikh Salah Al-Budair at the Islamic Centre, Shaheem said.
The last visit by an Imam of Masjid Al Nabawi to Maldives was for the official inauguration of the Islamic Centre, making this the first such visit in four decades.
Sheikh Salah Al-Budair is renowned for his exceptional skill in reciting the Quran. He has led Taraweeh prayers at Masjid Al Nabawi as well.
