O'level exam commences, with over 8000 students

O'Level examinations have commenced, with over 8000 students sitting for the exams this year.

Including SSC and Cambridge IGCSC, a total of 8,364 students are sitting for their exams this year.

Islam examinations will be held today and tomorrow.

The Education Ministry said that exams are being conducted in a total of 260 centers.

The students sitting for exams from today are those that completed Grade 10 in the last academic year.

Students who were promoted to Grade 10 for the academic year that began on April 7 will be doing their O'Level exams in February/March next year. Those presently in Grade 9 will do their O'Level exams in October/November next year.

The ministry has decided to conduct O'Level exams in October/November from next year onwards.
