President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has said that Majeediyya School is the most prestigious educational institute in Maldives, praising the school's legacy and its pivotal role in shaping the nation’s intellectual landscape.
As the country’s oldest school marks its 98th anniversary today, President Muizzu in a post on social media platform X said that his admiration for Majeediyya School, calling it the “cradle of systematic education” in the country.
“The memories of educational enlightenment it gave to the country and the progress brought to the nation under its roof are endless,” the President said.
He also extended heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the school’s students, teachers, parents, administrators, and staff on this historic milestone.
Founded on April 19, 1927, Majeediyya School stands as a symbol of educational excellence and national pride. In 2027, the school will celebrate its 100th anniversary.
A special centenary countdown was launched last year, with preparations already underway for what is expected to be a significant celebration.
The school previously celebrated its 75th anniversary with a series of colorful activities in Male'.
