Over 130 cartons of cigarettes stolen from Fuvahmulah Euro Store warehouse

A large number of cigarette cartons have been stolen from the Euro Store warehouse in Fuvahmulah.

Police said that they are investigating the theft of over 130 cartons of cigarette. No arrests have been made in the case so far.

Recently, there has been similar thefts in Male' as well, with large numbers of cigarette cartons stolen from two bonded warehouses in the capital. This case, too, is being investigated by Police and Maldives Customs Service.

With is being unclear what happened to the cigarette cartons, a case has also been filed with the Attorney General, with Customs seeking MVR 67 million from the warehouses.
