First Lady Sajida Mohamed today encouraged civil service employees to implement policies diligently, regardless of the administration in power.

Speaking at an event marking the government’s first anniversary and honoring health ministry civil servants, Sajida emphasized that civil servants are the backbone of policy implementation, regardless of the governing party or leadership.

“Even if certain aspects of a policy may not be personally agreeable, civil servants should not hesitate to execute it,” the First Lady stated. “No policy can be carried out solely by a few politicians; civil servants are central to these efforts.”

Acknowledging potential dissatisfaction with certain policies, Sajida encouraged civil servants to move forward with their responsibilities and focus on continuous improvement.

“Instead of allowing dissatisfaction to hinder progress, we should prioritize our work and, if issues arise, address them constructively with the relevant parties,” she said.

Sajida concluded by stressing the importance of unity between policymakers and civil servants, urging them to work together as a cohesive team.
