A re-draw will be held to allocate land plots in Gulhi Falhu, in line with the updated land use plan.

While a list of recipients for the Gulhi Falhu plots was released last night, the new draw is set to take place on Tuesday at Dharubaaruge Rannabandeyri Maalam.

Under the current plan, 669 plots of 1,250 square feet, 1,234 plots of 1,650 square feet, 916 plots of 2,050 square feet, 158 plots of 2,850 square feet, 49 plots of 3,250 square feet, and 21 plots of 3,650 square feet will be allocated in Gulhi Falhu.

This includes the initially received plots frim Giraavaru Falhu who requested to switch to Gulhi Falhu. Land registry documents have already been issued to recipients of land in the reclaimed areas of both Gulhi Falhu and Giraavaru Falhu.

Those who received land from the reclaimed area in Gulhi Falhu and Giraavaru Falhu have already been handed over the land registry.

The Gulhi Falhu reclamation project was awarded to Netherland's Boskalis company during former president Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's administration on 17th October 2019. The project is valued at MVR 2 billion, to reclaim a total land area of 65 hectares.

However, President Dr Mohamed Muizzu added another 85 hectares to the project and included another 150 hectares in the second phase of the project. The reclamation of that area is ongoing.
