Parliament approves four members to Tax Appeal Tribunal

Thirteen candidates had applied for the four positions. The names were referred to the Parliament's Judiciary Committee for consideration, and today, Parliament voted on each nomination individually.

Parliament today approved the names of four individuals to fill vacancies on the Tax Appeal Tribunal.

Thirteen candidates had applied for the four positions. The names were referred to the Parliament's Judiciary Committee for consideration, and today, Parliament voted on each nomination individually.

Names approved by the parliament are:

- Abdul Ghani Mohamed

- Ibrahim Shareef

- Hassan Zuhair Mohamed

- Shifza Abdul Gayyoom

Abdul Ghani is a former Supreme Court judge.

Four posts of the Tax Appeal Tribunal with the exception of Ismail Saajid, had become vacant in August following the parliament's recommendation for their removal.
