In the match played in China's Dalian Youth Training Base today, the first half ended without either team scoring a single goal.
However, five minutes into the second half, Bhutan's Sayun Lama scored a goal, followed by another by Thinley Yezza at the twelfth minute, with Bhutan then taking a two goal lead.
At the 70th minute, Maldives picked up with Mohamed Ilan Imran scoring a goal. Ilan then scored an additional goal through a penalty at the 81st minute.
On Monday, Maldives will play its second match, facing off against Bahrain.
