Missing boat located, all persons aboard safe

The Laamu atoll boat that went missing has been found.

The boat was identified as Acris, which went missing while travelling from Laamu atoll to Male' with fourteen people on board.

Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) said that they had received reports of the boat being missing early yesterday evening.

The boat was located this morning 22 nautical miles east of Meemu atoll Raiymandhoo, stranded with a failed engine.

All fourteen people on board the boat are safe and in good health, MNDF confirmed.
