This year's Ooredoo Mas Race is set to kick off today at Kaafu atoll Himmafushi.
The fishing race, set to begin at 14:00, marks the first time the Ooredoo Mas Race is being held on an island outside the capital city, Malé. A total of 21 teams from Himmafushi will be participating in the event.
The first place winner will be awarded MVR 25,000, while the second and third place teams will receive MVR 10,000 and MVR 5,000, respectively.
Additionally, those accorded as "Best Fisherman" and "Best Fisherwoman" will each be given a prize of MVR 1,000, along with a Pio Ultimate Sea Spirit/Gangster (H/D) rod.
