President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has unveiled Elections Commission (EC) President Fuad Thaufeeq's biography, "Gothugai" today.

The 190-page book, written by journalist Ahmed Saail Ali, was unveiled at a ceremony held at the President's Office this morning.

The book provides detailed accounts of Fuad's personal and professional life, including stories from his time at the SAARC Secretariat, where he introduced the first computers to the Maldives and conducted a population census using them.

The book also covers Fuad's significant contributions to the Elections Commission and his experiences during that period, highlighting his role in the introduction of democracy in the Maldives and the establishment of transparent election laws.

The book's introduction reads, "Fuad is a treasure trove for the people in an era of low trust in leaders. He is second to none in execution, planning, and implementation. This book is his biography. His happiness and sadness, successes, lessons, and betrayals [he has faced]."

This is Saail's third book. His previous works include "E Dhuvas Geneveyne," which discusses his experiences with mental illness, and "Faisal Naseem," a biography of former Vice President Faisal Naseem.
