Three expats arrested with large amounts of alcohol to be deported

Three expatriates have been arrested yesterday for being in possession of a large quantity of alcohol.

As per the Police website, they have arrested a foreigner aged 24 and two aged 29 years after conducting a search on an apartment and shop in Male' under a court order.

All three have been handed over to Maldives Immigration for deportation.

In this operation held in collaboration by the Drug Enforcement Department and Intelligence Department, 141 500ml bottles of what is suspected to be alcohol were seized.

Police are conducting further investigations into this case.
