Police probe into case of two men locked inside a cage at Artificial Beach

Two men have been locked inside a bird cage at Artificial Beach in Malé, the capital city.

Police confirmed they are investigating the incident after a video of the two men locked in a large cage began circulating on social media on Friday.

The video shows the men discussing a money dispute, with one seated and the other standing, asking for more time to repay the debt.

A person outside the cage can be heard stating that the two men owed a large sum of money and is seen splashing water on them from a pipe.

According to the police, the incident occurred after the two men ate at a restaurant and did not pay their bill.
