Search initiated for missing eight year old girl in Fiyoaree

Police have begun searching for an eight-year-old who went missing last night on the island of Fiyoaree in Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll, located in the South Central Maldives.

A police media official stated that the girl was reported missing by her family at 19:00 hrs on Saturday night.

Police added that, according to the family, the girl was last seen at approximately 17:00 hrs yesterday evening.

Police and island residents are currently active in the search for the missing girl.
