The High Court has scheduled to issue its verdict on the appeal of Galolhu South MP Ahmed Mahloof’s six-month jail sentence this Thursday.
After being found guilty of obstructing a police officer on duty, MP Mahloof was sentenced to jail for six months. However, his sentence was completed this January and he is now serving a sentence of four months and 24 days which ends this Friday.
He was sentenced for pushing police barricades and entering a restricted area during a protest in March 2015. Though the case was appealed earlier, the hearings only commenced last month after his sentence was completed.
His current sentence is issued over attempting to flee while being arrested by Police.
