Maldives Police Service has summoned social media activist Azra Naseem to present herself at Police Headquarters within two weeks.
Police did not disclose the reason for the summons but states that they are searching for Azra in connection to an ongoing probe. They added that they are unable to bring her to the investigation as she is currently out of the country.
In a statement, they urged Azra to present herself at the headquarters and to produce a defence for the case being investigated against her. Police added that otherwise, the case will be forwarded to the Prosecutor General’s Office to be charged in her absence.
Meanwhile, Police have also summoned Aishath Velezinee, Muzarraf Naeem and Abdulla Haany Umar to headquarters in connection to undisclosed investigations.
