A team of ENT doctors at Treetop Hospital has successfully performed a parotidectomy surgery to remove a parotid tumor.

Parotid tumors occur in the parotid gland, located between the ear and the lower jawbone. The involvement of multiple facial nerves in this surgery makes parotidectomy complex and challenging.

Tree Top Hospital confirmed that the patient's facial nerve remained undamaged, indicating a successful surgery. Such procedures have enhanced the ENT team's expertise and improved the quality of service provided by the hospital.

Tree Top Hospital has a track record of successful complex ENT surgeries.

The patient who underwent surgery had previously been informed by doctors at other hospitals in the Maldives that such a procedure was not available locally.

The hospital expressed satisfaction at being able to provide essential surgical services and highlighted its experience in performing similar surgeries.

Dr. Rajesh A. Valand, leading ENT doctor at the hospital, led the surgical team for the parotidectomy. Dr. Valand has extensive experience in various head and neck surgeries, including parotidectomy, thyroidectomy, and procedures for snoring and sleep apnea, as well as pinna reconstruction.
