Male' City Council has issued an announcement on Thursday, seeking expressions of interest from contractors who wish to take up the establishment of a cat shelter and facility in Hulhumale'.
The cat facility, intended to provide shelter and care for the numerous stray cats found on the city streets at present, has been allocated land in Farukolhufushi, now connected to and part of Hulhumale' Phase 2.
The announcement said that bidding is now open for interested parties.
Those interested can seek further information through visiting the council's Administrative Section's meeting room at 11:00 hrs on next Tuesday. Price proposals are to be submitted next Thursday at 11:00 hrs.
Those who do not attend to seek information or those who submit proposals after the deadline will not be eligible to apply, the Council said.
The Council further said that bidding is open to local companies, partnerships, local investments, and those with business permits.
Previously, Mayor Adam Azim has said that the facility will include a vet clinic with basic veterinary services in addition to the shelter.
