Police arrested a man attempting to smuggle drugs into Gaafu Dhaal atoll Thinadhoo island last Thursday night.
According to Police, the man of 39 years was arrested at Kaadehdhoo domestic airport after they received intelligence regarding the smuggling attempt. The drugs were in an empty film canister which was concealed in the man’s rear.
Police added that the man had also tested positive for drugs. They did not release further details.
Meanwhile, the Thinadhoo Magistrate Court has added ten days to his remand.
