Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has allotted a commercial unit from the Hiyaa Flats in Hulhumale’ to the National Centre for the Holy Quran on Thursday, for the centre to open a branch in Hulhumale’.

In a ceremony held at HDC, their Managing Director Fazul Rasheed and CFO Ahmed Sham signed on behalf of the company, while Imam Abdul Jaleel Ismail and Imam Abdulla Rasheed signed on behalf of the Centre for the Holy Quran.

HDC said it had allotted a commercial unit to the centre to expand its services without charging any rent as part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). They said no fees will be collected for five years, and that they believed many services would be made available fro the branch.

They said that this will make it easier for people living in Hulhumale' to obtain services related to the Quran.

The Centre for the Holy Quran caters to people of all age groups, including Quran classes, Gari courses, Imam courses as well as training Hafizes. The building that used to run the Centre for the Holy Quran in Male' City had fallen to disrepair, causing the office to be shifted to the Salman Mosque.
