Ministry of Health has announced that they are currently working on commencing within six months the delivery of medicine via drones.
The Ministry announced that it held a meeting on Thursday with relevant stakeholders to discuss preparations that need to be undertaken to commence transport of medicine from the capital to islands.
The Ministry aims to commence this service within the next six months.
Former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih also introduced a drone for the health services, with the intention of introducing a service where drones carry samples from laboratories to and from islands to Male'.
The last administration had a test drive of the drone for these purposes in Gaafu Dhaalu atoll in last August, after holding deliberations with concerned authorities.
